Is there a way to edit and re-save video clips?

I import lots of videos from my Sony A7S2 and the files end up being very large, though some of the clips are really long with very little footage that I'd like to keep. Is there a way to edit the clips in QT or Mac OS somehow like you can on an iPhone and save a new high quality version of the clip without having to go into a program like Premiere?

forgot about that. any idea if it can be exported without any compression?
