Is there a way to enable to volume control while using the dock connector?

Is there a way to enable to volume control while using the dock connector? I'd like to be able to control the ipad's volume from the unit itself.

If you're talking about controlling volume directly from the dock connector, no.

Directly from the iPad. When the cable is plugged in the volume on the iPad is disabled.
