I want this coz I don't need discrete graphics very often, and sometimes it is turned on by software (as flash) and then battery life downs to half, plus heating etc.

So I have Flash disabled and avoid some graphic intensive software, but is difficult to predict which software will turn on discrete graphics, system settings only provide ovverides to keep integrated graphics allways on, I need it all the time Off.

I have a MBP 15-e2011.//

A quick search on google or on this forum would've brought up the utility GfxCardStatus, which is safe to download and use.

Be aware that only the AMD card is hard wired to the thunderbolt port, so if you use an external display/projector, you'll need to turn the AMD card on.

probably isn't, but everyone with dedicated graphics uses it because random programs engage the AMD card... xD

Basically everyone uses this program because apple thinks providing a manual option to turn it on and off and provide profiles for situations would confuse the general public too much.
