Is there a way to get my google contacts to sync BOTH directions??? (more below)

I have my gmail account configured to sync contacts (through settings/contacts/email etc) ... But if I change a contact in that gmail group on the iphone, I'd like it changed in my google contacts as well ... Is there a way to do this???
