So I upgraded my 4th gen iPod touch to iOS5, and, of course, it wiped my disc. I can never remember what's on my iPod (20Gb of tracks is a strain on my ever-diminishing brain cells) and replacing everything (most of it is stuff I've ripped myself) is a bit tedious, so I was wondering if there is a way to keep an inventory of what's on the iPod touch?

Thanks,

I was looking for a way to make a list of all songs/tracks on my iPod. I suppose you could make a playlist, but it would be pretty large, no?

I'm gonna answer my own question - for those many times in the future when updating my iPod wipes all my songs off it...:(
Attach ipod to mac. start up iTunes, select Music on the ipod, then File..Library..Export Library. This will give you an XML printout of all the songs on the iPod.
But even better is to go to File...Print, where you get the option to print your song library as a PDF file. You can print out a list of songs, or a list of Albums, etc. Sorted.:D
