Is there a way to rebind special keyboard keys?

So, my official mac keyboard broke, so I got another one... one that has media controller buttons on it. The play button starts itunes, and I want to stop that from happening because the play button is right next to the volume up and down buttons that I use very frequently. Is there a way in OSX to disable that?
