We have a dog which tries its best to run away. Ended up putting a AirTag on her collar. It would be nice if both my wife and I could see it. But as it is right now, only one of us can “own” the AirTag. Any tricks to change this? Or is Apple possibly working on this?

Use 2 airtags on the collar. One for you and one for your wife.

This is the only solution!

Want everyone in your family to track the dog? Then you have to attach one AirTag per person!

My dog is going to have a collar with 7 AirTags dangling off of it. We'll ALL know where it's at! This is clearly what Apple had in mind for us when they chose to prevent AirTag sharing. Max $$$ for them.

I wish apple would fix this and have a way to share AirTags because me and my wife switch vehicles all the time and it gets annoying getting the "someone is following you" notifications and not being able to find her keys when using them . Im sure apple could pull this off while maintaining the security side of things

Of course they can pull it off, but do they want to? This is by design and not a bug, ergo there is nothing to fix. Apple is much happier when you buy two (or more) instead of one.

Great idea! They could market a leather dog collar with a series of slots for Air Tags ?

Get two sets of keys? I ended up getting an AirTag for the second key for my car, as my wife kept misplacing them.

I ran across this in an Apple Support document:
If you're borrowing an AirTag or another item compatible with the Find My network from a member of your Family Sharing group, you can turn off alerts for that item for one day, or indefinitely.

Would turning off the alerts indefinitely solve the alerts issue when swapping vehicles?
