I was wondering if there is a workaround at all to install SL with just 512
MB of RAM.

What Mac do you possibly have that only have 512mb of ram??!?

From what I Remember only the Core Duo models came that low, And if your on a core duo Snow leopard is only going to save space, not speed up.

Honestly, you should look at ebay for some ram. You do not want to run with 512mb ram, as you will easily be starving for memory.

Increase ram to at least 2gb

Thanks, I figured as much.

It's a white Macbook, model identifier is 1,1.

I'm actually trying to help a friend, and I've already sent him a link to the RAM he needs. He doesn't have Tiger disks, and a call to Apple said they don't sell them anymore. Should he turn to eBay?

Thanks!
