i checked at Everymac .... all of the 17" intel models come with the eye sight.

I am trying to rebut a claim made by a seller, who claims that this is a 1.83 core duo. As long as i know, the array of the ports such as below, came with the early G5 models.

You are correct.
No Intel iMac came without the iSight cam.
You are looking at a G5 iMac - with a (probably) 1.8Ghz G5 processor (PPC :D )

Definately a G5. Intel CD port arrangement is horizontal with power button on the bottom right. G5 is vertical as in the picture with power button at the bottom left aligned with the ports.

In fact - An iMac G5 with iSight has horizontal ports, too.
The vertical lineup of ports is only (and definitely) the older G5.

Why are you attempting to rebut his claim? Are you interested in buying the system in question?

Looks like the OP had good reason to believe that the seller was trying to sell the system as a newer intel, when the pictured iMac could not be an intel model, but would be a couple of years older.

Understood. But what is his interest in rebutting the sellers claim? Is he interested in buying it and therefore rebutting it to back a lower offer?

I can ask you the same ...why are are u interested in knowing about my rebuts ! :D but i won't.

its for my knowledge, perhaps to add to the collection, also its to correct the mistake of the seller, who, now, for sure has a misleading advert for sale...

Are you the seller who put up the advert ? hence the concern

Now i am really concerned...on the manner which you seem to be concerned. YOU ARE the SELLER right ?

Why are you taking it so seriously ? I really dont get it ! I didnt disclose the source of the advert or even comment publicly at the advert ( which i would love to do)...

Why are you so concerned on what is my concern on a misleading advert !

...upon my rebuttal, the seller did say that he was unsure of the specs !

Oh grow up! If you're interested in buying the system it's understandable you'd want to make the seller aware of what they're selling in order to ensure the two of you are on the same page in order to complete the transaction. Of course it may not even be relevant if the terms of the transaction wouldn't be affected (i.e. if he has it listed for $100 as a Core Duo and would not lower the price if it's a G5).

It's even understandable you may have reached out to him in a kind gesture to help him understand what he's selling. But it seems to have gone beyond just a friendly 'Hey did you know the system you're selling is actually a G5 and not a Core Duo system?" It sounds to me as if you're rebutting him for the sake of correcting him without any intention of buying. As you're here asking for support I'd say it's moved beyond the point of reasonableness and my advice to you would be to just let it go.
