As the title says, I'm after an app (preferably free) that can resize multiple .jpg photos in one go, is there such an app?

TIA

use the build-into-OS-X "Automator" and make a workflow using Preview to resize (I think it's there with all the step necessary included).

Thanks, will look into this. No idea how to use automator though so need to research. Just had a quick look and doesn't appear straight forward.

I've tried using a couple of apps from the app store, but even though they resize the image, the actual file size increases. What I'm wanting to achieve is a smaller file size.

You can easily resize multiple photos with Preview. There's no need to use Automator for a function like this.

Never mind I've figured it out. If I select all the images and then open in preview like this:-

Then select all the images in the left hand pane. Go to tools, select resize and input the size you want. Click OK and all photos are done in one go :)
