Is there an app to send international texts?

Hey everyone,

I have a number in Bali that I want to contact through text. Is there an app that will let me do this preferably for free?

Well, iMessages can do it for free internationally if the other person has an iphone.
Otherwise, if they have a 'dumbphone', they'll most likely still get charged an international text fee since the texts still go through the carrier.
If they have a smartphone that's NOT an iPhone, any number of messaging apps will work... ie: facebook messaging.
 
Is the other phone a smartphone? Any messaging app will work if so. Like mentioned if its an iPhone iMessage will work.
 
Not quite sure if its a smartphone or a dumbphone, but its definitely not an iphone. I just want to be able to send an international txt for free from my end, is there an app for that?
 
its basically just a bali phone number, but since I am on t-mobile i get charged if I send international txts. I just need an app that will let me send a txt to the number for free on my end, without having them download an app (i.e whatsapp, viber etc.)

you can download textfree app, watch videos, earn credit & send international text for free. Ive used the credit to make international calls, the audio quality is terrible but since you will only be using it for texts, it shouldn't be a problem.
 
usually carriers let you can send an email to the phone number as a text message. you can try sending a text to the number @ whatever the carriers email link is. check if the carrier supports that.

Download one of those TextFree applications. Plenty of them in the store.

You could even use Google Voice.

Any app that allows you to send SMS messages using your carrier's data network will do. However, if the other phone is a smartphone, you can use an instant messaging app like AOL Instant Messenger. However, both phones must have the same IM app.

A name you can give me in particular? Or if I type "textfree" in the app store it will give me a bunch of options?
