Would make sense if Iphone5 is going to be released in late Aug or Early Sept for Apple to have an event. Most likely event will be in early Sept whem IOS 5 comes out.

At this point no one knows and its all just speculations. I read a report this morning saying that the next iPhone won't ship until late Sept/early October, which may not be to far since Apple is saying that iOS 5 won't be released until Fall 2011 (which begins on Sept 23rd). My point, every tech blog is just throwing dates out hoping one of them will be correct.

I don't know when Apple will release the next iPhone, but since they have already said that iOS 5 won't be released until the Fall and Apple generally releases new Hardware along side new Software, expecting anything before Sept 23rd is just wishful thinking. (an announcement could before the 23rd, but I'm guessing a release won't).
