Edit: it's possible to order from their shop with customs prepaid. You just don't see it anywhere unless you place an order.

Bonus points for owc because someone from them posted in this thread with more explanation :)

Old post:

I was looking at the MiniStack STX.

Unfortunately if you order directly from them it's "US+Intl" so that means shipped from who knows where and wasting time in customs.
Macsales used to have a pointer to an EU site but it seems to be gone.
Couldn't find it on Amazon US either, that would be convenient because they have an option to handle customs for you.
European Amazons show some italian seller i've never heard of with a not-great rating.

Anyone knows of a decent EU source for those? And I mean anywhere in the EU. Willing to pay a bit of a premium just so I don't have to deal with customs.

[I want a TB hub with storage and display passthrough, so I don't think there are any decent alternatives.]

I've found some MiniStack STX on Amazon Deutschland.

B&H offers prepaid VAT/customs for international orders (you have to check out if the destination country is covered).

Another option is to use a US forwarding shipping company. Granted, you have to check if the added VAT + customs + shipping + forwarding fees reaches an acceptable total amount. A few of them (very few, actually, to my knowledge) offer prepaid VAT/customs.

Ohh B&H does support prepaid VAT for Romania. Thanks!

I'll take a look at the resellers list* but at a quick glance they're probably small shops that don't ship outside their country and I have none in mine.

* who thought it would be a good idea to only display a few and make me click a button 5-6 times to load the full list so I can search through it...

It's worth to try the resellers and check their shipping policy. It's quite common nowadays that they ship outside their country. Shops in Germany, Netherlands and France to name just a few usually ship around Europe.

OWC has a EU warehouse. Have you tried sending them an email?
Um no because i saw 'Intl' lumped in with the US. They used to have a separate EU site so I just assumed they gave up on that for lack of customers. I'll try.

Hi. Sorry to hear you are not able to find OWC products in Europe. We did have a separate website. But we had to give that up because the framework was old and outdated. Macsales.eu is being worked on. This does not mean you cannot get our gear in EU. We are doing a lot of efforts and are continuously growing our network in EMEA.
Our warehouse for Europe is located in Belgium. If you drop a message @ sales@owc.eu and tell them were you are located. They will help you to get OWC gear. Also for Europe we have dedicated support that can be reached on support@owc.eu

Ok for the record, IT'S POSSIBLE!

If you do add a product on macsales to the cart and go to checkout you will get delivery options via UPS with all taxes prepaid.

It's just me not being used to have to actually place the order to find that out. Or not being used to have to order something to create an account on the site. The US can be weird like that :)

Going to still try and find a reseller with a VAT code that will ship to me for now.
