Is there an external drive for USB-C similar to transcend jet drive lite?

The new touchbar MacBook pro came without memory card ports and I really miss it since on the previous macbook you could use transcend jet drive lite to expand your storage cheaply and discretely. You could not event tell that you had an external drive.

Was wondering if anyone knows if there is a similar discrete drive for USB-C or preferably thunderbolt? Is it possible to make one?
