I have the griffin reveal for my 4S and really like it. They have a 5 version, which is probably what I'll get when I upgrade. It's pretty much a bumper but with transparent plastic stuff covering the back.

Google caze zero 5. 0.5mm thick, transparent, from Japan. Though 'thinness' is inversly proportional to 'protection'.

I kinda like the feel of the reveal, but I just cannot stand how easily the back plastic scratches. It's terrible.

I used to be a huge fan of the Incipio feather case. But not so much anymore. I really like the Poetic case...

Hands down the thinnest case I've ever seen is the Caudabe Veil. It's funny because so many cases these days claim to be "ultra thin", but they all look thick compared to the Caudabe. I think it's something like 0.35mm thin. Basically like a glorified skin. I have the frost version on my white iPhone and I can't even tell there's a case on it sometimes.

I highly advise you against the Poetic Atmosphere case for iPhone 5. It is already slightly bent when you receive it, and will bend your iPhone over time. It is also impossible to remove without serious force, which can result in you damaging the case. It also has a major gap near the camera hole which allows dust. As for protection, I can't really say anything because I never dropped my iPhone when i had it.

DO NOT BUY!

I went for the Krussell color case, in black it is really subtle and doesn't add much thickness at all. No protection at the top and bottom though, I use a lucky labs wrap all round.

spigen saturn.... it has also the same back design of iphone 5 with back aluminum!

I've used & seen quite a few cases on my iPhones & right now I'm really liking the Tech 21 Impact Mesh case for iPhone 5. Nice & thin with seemingly very good protection.

I have the Griffin reveal and it scratches very easily and the silicone is a little loose and floppy for me.
I picked up a TechArmor frost case this weekend. It is very thin and feels good soo far, but we shall see in time. I saw some reviews of it yellowing.

I don't understand the hype around totally transparent plastic cases.
In bright light all the scratches are going to show up and its downright ugly.
I use the Switcheasy Tones which has the same two tone design as the iPhone 5 and yet maintains a minimal profile. You may really want to take a look .

The new desmay slight case is pretty good, a claimed 0.35 mm all round which and importantly for me no bumper!

As NickPhamUK said though, thinness is proportional to protection.
I am on my second one now, the first one split in half when I dropped the phone onto concrete! I'd rather replace the case than the phone though (which suffered no damage or scratches)

Is there an iPhone 5 case that doesn't add much thickness?
There are a number of them including the Spigen Ultra Thin Air that my wife uses. Check out the Accessories subforum (where this thread belongs).

Preference that you don't share != hype. If you don't get it then don't get one. One size does not fit all. Use what works for you.
