I'm looking for an app that would allow me to listen to the sound that my computer is outputting. I know this is possible in remote desktop apps like Jaadu RDP, but I'd rather a way to do this without the use of remote desktop. The reason is because I'd like to use my iPhone (connected with come earphones) as a wireless headset for my computer.

You guys sorta misunderstood. I'm looking for a solution that can act as a wireless headset, streaming whatever audio is coming out of my computer. As I said, Jaadu RDP is able to do this, but I want a solution that doesn't completely hog my computer and waste my battery on the phone. I'm not looking for a way to stream my music collection 
I used this one to stream music from my computer to my living room speakers using my iPhone when my Airport Express died during a party

IMO, Mecanto and AudioGalaxy both are good resources for stream audio from computer because there are no syncing, copying and uploading problems you just stream and enjoy the music.
