Is there any application for Mac OSX to make video thumbnails / storyboard / timeline collage.

I want to capture certain frames in 1 picture. Can i do that in Mac if so how?

I know with vlc you can capture scene by scene, but i want some x no. of frames with equally spaced in time in 1 picture. How can i do that?

please help
