Is there any Dashboard like on Windows for Mac

Hi

In my office I am working with Windows 7 and I use widgets at the right side of my screen, at home I use Mac and I which if there a similar one for mac, dashboard for mac is to big, please if there any I appreciate the information.

In Windows they are called gadgets and reside on the Desktop the whole time.

Do you want a Dashboard like feature for Windows, where you press a certain key (combination) and widgets appear like they do in Mac OS X?
