O orangemacapple macrumors 6502 Sep 1, 2006 442 0 Raleigh Apr 10, 2007 #4 the "S" designation stands for SODIMM which is what you would put in you macbook. it has 200 pins the other would probably be DIMM which has 240 pins which would be used for desktops
