Hey guys.
I've been wondering if there was a voice-operated, talking virtual butler out there for Mac. At least, an app that is/does these things:
(Maybe one like Jarvis from Iron Man.)

- Voice-operated
- Talking (like Siri or Jarvis)

- Sets alarms
- Tells you the weather
- Checks your email for you
- Tells you the time
- Sports/News
- Reminders
- etc etc etc

If anybody could tell me about an Mac app that does those things, I'd appreciate it a lot!
:D

Thanks guys,

Start by turning on the builtin Speech Recognition.

You can also turn on various features that speak screen content, like the text of dialogs, alerts, etc.

In 10.8 Mountain Lion, most of these are under the Accessibility pane of System Preferences, in the "Speakable Items" list item.

Earlier OS versions may have Speakable Items in the Speech pane, and there are still some options in Mtn Lion's Dictation & Speech pane.

Found by googling:
mac speech recognition

Try searching the App Store, too.

Alright, thanks man, I'll start looking around.
Maybe, if I can't find anything, I'll make my own. :)

That would be cool.

If anybody else has any ideas, please post them! :D
