Is there any place besides the Apple store for apps?

Greetings all. I am new to the iPhone / iPod Touch world and would appreciate any insite you can give me.

I have an iPod Touch. Is the Apple Store the only place to acquire Apps? Or is there some way to get Apps from somewhere else and somehow load th em on your iPod Touch?

The App Store is the only place. Unless you jailbreak, then you can use Cydia. But Cydia apps aren't like App Store apps.

only if you are interested in themes and tweaks. otherwise you wouldnt not need to worry about it.
