no one cares about your kinky porn:p

in reality its not much of a threat, someone has to have basic computer skills and the will power to put the effort in. that eliminates about 98% of the population right there.:p

What watching porn?! :D

In all seriousness, they actually can, provided that your parents are skilled enough with a computer like NT1440 said. I also think you can buy a tracking software for your firewall or something.

There's a good chance that your father goes to the same porn sites (and a smaller chance that your mum works at one of these porn sites), so they can't just pin this on you. I feel that they must also take responsibility for some of the porn they watch, and upload.

haha, that reminds me of this bash.org entry that was something like

>my dad caught me on the computer today, he asked me what i had to say for myself
then what happened?
>i looked him straight in the eyes and said My Documents > jim > faxes > sent faxes
what was that?
>his pr0n folder

man, i wish bash.org was still up

If it's correct then they can watch p0rn all together! A family reunion!:D

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't ISPs track all that stuff? Unless you have some sort of IP cloaking/hidey thing and use public Wifi on a expendable Compaq that you can dump over the bridge if the rents get too close, it's always possible to find out where you've been - it's just a matter of how bad you want to know.

Ok, well depending on your parents skills with computers and technology your p0rno history may or may not be safe.
In agreement to the other posters, yes you can view the url histories through the router.
I think there may also be a way to do it if someone somehow connects to your computer through their computer.

Anyways, just blame it on your dad.
OR you can blame it on your neighbors and say they're stealing your wireless internet.
If you have to you can always revert to the last option which is smashing the router.

who ever said i was looking at p0rn?

We do. lol.
You wouldn't really have a reason to want to hide your history that bad if it wasn't p0rn.

Again, depending on your parents computer knowlegde, they know the IP of the computer going to those sites. So they know if its your computer.

I once had to fix a computer of a family from our church. Needless to say about 70% of the files on it were porn :/

I did the only responsible thing and delete it :p

I lol'd at this thread. To TS, if your that desperate, you can go reset your router or something...just don't be doing anything illegal or your parents knowing where you were will be the least of your worries ;)

Did you say something to them like "nice porn sites you visit there!":D

LOL great thread. :p

On the Netgear at my parents' house, it's a two minute task to get it to dump out periodic e-mails of all the sites visited by computers connected to the router, FWIW. Very nicely set up.

Maybe the original poster was buying them a nice present and wanted them to be surprised?

Seriously though, the drawn conclusion may seem most likely, but there are any number of different scenarios.

Like the others have said, it depends on tech knowhow. With the right skills it's not too hard to find out.

Can his parents get a virus on their computer from a site he visited with his other computer maybe through the router??? Just curious. No reason. It has nothing to do with above topic.
