The new Games app is supposed to gather games from all storefronts in one app. However, none of my Steam games show up in the game library. Is there any way to force it?

Apple never said it would gather games from other storefronts. Only "…from the App Store, Apple Arcade, and Game Center."

Steam games aren't from the App Store, definitely aren't in Apple Arcade, and the vast majority don't link to Game Center.

You are wrong.

"

Library

On the Library tab, players can quickly jump into a specific game they’ve installed and redownload old favorites. They can see all the of the games they have downloaded from the App Store for their iPhone and iPad, and all games downloaded from any platform or service for Mac."

Huh. That differs from what the Games app itself says.

I'd guess that since the claim "from any platform or service" is on the Apple Developer website, that it requires support from the developers of the other platforms/services. Which they haven't done yet.

The other options it that Apple has to have a team that analyzes all installed applications to determine what is and is not a game, and add that database (and maybe some kind of detection) to the OS, which also hasn't happened yet.

I have Steam, EA, Epic, and GOG games on my system, and my Games app only sees the ones downloaded from the App Store, not any of the other services.

Yeah like many other things with the Games app it dosn’t work as advertised it seems. I have my GOG games in the Games library, but no Steam games
Steam games show for me in the Games app. Had to reboot for them to show however.
That's very interesting. May I ask which games? And could you elaborate more on your setup? Steam beta?

Normal steam client. Blue Prince, Dead Island 2, the Witcher
Do you have Hades? If you have it, is that one popping up as well?

Is there any game that you have that does not show up in the Games app? Just trying to figure out if it's something with particular games not working, or if it's something with Steam in general

I don’t.

They all show if you’ve opened them once. Opening the game triggers the recognition that it’s a game. This isn’t new behavior. Sequoia and I think Sonoma showed a “Games” version of Launchpad if you pressed the PS button on a Dual Sense for example.

Yeah, I think macOS recognizes that a game is running since I get a notification saying I can press the PS button for game overlay. But the PS button does not trigger game overlay, and the games simply do not appear in the Games app. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do to fix this?

Have you tried going to settings and the game controller section? You can make sure the PS button is mapped to “Press Home button to open” and then make sure “Games” is selected.

As said earlier, the Games app and Tahoe is pretty buggy. On Sequoia, I could navigate my games just using the controller. This doesn’t work for me on Tahoe even though it did in the betas.

All I can recommend is hope that 26.1 fixes some of these issues.
