Is there any way to make widgets colourful?

I like the new Home Screen options, but the widgets are horrible. Instead of the familiar red-green-blue circles for Apple Watch that I’m used to, it uses an only-white colour scheme that makes it very hard to see at a glance. Same thing with weather, temperature, and other things. Is there any way to change this?

Unfortunately you can only apply a global tint color to everything. Not use multi-color setups. At least as of now. Presumably this was done so it’ll work with all background images without clashing too much and destroying feasibility with for example blue on blue
