Is there any way to predict if iphone 4s 8gb will drop to $375 or become discontinued at Sept 2012?

There is no 8GB iPhone 4S.

There IS the 8GB iPhone 4 (no S), though. And it might be discontinued when the next generation iPhone comes out, but chances are slim it'll happen before then.

I get the feeling he meant that in the plural form - the rules for Internet English and English rarely match up ;)

Anyway, it will stay at its current price until the next iPhone update. That's how Apple does their pricing strategies - they rarely change their prices, but they rotate different products through those price points.

I'm not even sure it is English!

If the existing trend continues, you'll still be able to find some new, refurbished or used iPhone 4 models following the next model launch for a while. Once the retailers run out though, it's unlikely Apple would continue making the iPhone 4, but you'll be able to find them used and refurbished through the internet from existing users upgrading.

Some carriers, like AT&T, still offer the 3GS for 99 cents - with a 2 year contract.

The iPhone 4S will probably drop to a lower pricing tier like the 4 did; you'll pay $99 for a contracted price (in the US). The 5 will probably take over the $199 pricing tier for the base model.
