Is there any way to stop the pulldown calendar from displaying FB birthdays?

I have my FB calendar sinced, but under the calendar app i have FB Birthdays unchecked. Yet it still seems to display Birthdays on the pull down calendar. Is there any way to stop this?

Go to settings > Facebook, under the tab allow these apps to access your account turn calendar off

It's pulling it from your contacts. You have to turn off Facebook contacts for it to work. Annoying, right?
