I know they use a different sort of band/setup but just wanted to make certain that nobody has created some sort of workaround. It's just that edge on the ip4 sucks!

The incompatibility is at a /hardware/ level.

There is no workaround.

Second of all, even T-Mobile's 3G stuff won't work on it's 4G network.

Yea, sure. Hire an engineer and ask him/her to rebuild the whole phone to make it compatible with T-mobile's HSPA+ network.

T-mobile HSPA+ network is hardly 4G. Cannot even get 3Mbps in Maryland. iPhone 4 gets way faster with AT&T's 3G here in Maryland. This whole 4G and 3G is just a one big lie.

If you're in an area with a bad connection I'm not sure how faster speeds will help you, especially considering you'd have to completely rebuilt the phone to use it. Hint - Software updates can't physically change hardware.

I think so !

Anything is possible with the right amount of money and knowledge. I'm sure you could pay one of Apple's iPhone engineers millions and millions of dollars to leave Apple and engineer a T-Mobile compatible radio for your phone.
