Is there anyone who ordered late but delivery date is 9/21?

I ordered a 32gb Black AT&T at 6am est on the 14th. Still shows delivery on October 5th. I'm in Central FLorida.

I had to call and they said October 5th - 14th

BUT

it says Pending Shipment
but backordered

I'm confused.
 
If you ordered from the ATT website, that Pending Shipment status refers to the Tracking Number field. In other words, the tracking number they provide is pending the actual shipment and won't display until your order ships. It has nothing to do with the status of the order itself. Hope that makes sense.

Backordered means exactly that, although some posters here are claiming it's nothing to worry about and you'll still get your phone on time.

Just to add a point of reference I ordered 8:30 am EST on 9/14 and have the same status on the ATT website. I have a confirmation email stating "Your Order will arrive on 9/21", but who the heck knows what that means at this point. The ATT CSRs aren't giving consistent info, and every Joe here has a different take on it.

I'm going to step back and take a deep breath, and hope for the best. If it comes late, its not the end of the world.
 
Fell out...woke up @9-10 and ordered black 64gb thru AT&T...says 21st...last year same thing though and it came 3 weeks later.
 
Yep, what is the saying..."If you don't expect something to happen, then you won't be disappointed when it doesn't" :)

Makes sense. Good way of thinking it.

I don't think it was the time you placed your order, it's the time everything went through. If everything went through smoothly and there's different scenarios, then the times change. We may know more tomorrow
 
I set my alarm for 1:45am central and somehow slept past it... Woke up at 5am in a mad panic and apple.com was already showing shipments at two weeks, so I jumped on Verizon.com and had one ordered for delivery by the 21st

I assume by late you mean 45 minutes after preorders started? :D

I was probably one of the last few thousand to get mine slated for a Friday delivery because not long after I ordered mine from apple.com, macrumors published the "dates have slipped to 2 weeks" article.

I did the same thing, but I woke up at 3:20 am cst. I ordered through apple, and mine is to be delivered on 10/2.

I saw this, but I've received no such email:
