This isn't intended to be trolling/complaining post. I did that in this previous post..
Short sitrep - I just got my 15" 2016 MBP back from Apple. The device turns 4-years old in October and will fall outside the keyboard replacement program after then - and I don't want to have to fork out $700 for a repair after that.
So - with the new ARM Macs on the horizon, I'm going to hold out rather than sell/replace because this machine is plenty enough for most of my daily computing need and I need to make it last until we get Rev. B ARM Macs (I won't be getting in-line for any Rev A devices..).
Here's my plan:
1) Don't use the keyboard unless I have to. I'm going to keep it docked and use my external keyboard most of the time.
2) Get a keyboard dust cover. I normally hate those things, but got to keep it clean.
3) Vacuum it from time to time with a keyboard vac.

Are there any other tips for reducing the risk of these keys failing?
