Is there anyway to connect through Port 59 using IRC?

When I use IRC a lot of the time I am frustrated with the fact I can't access certain DCC serv's to recieve files. They are firewalled and most often the only way I can acces them through Port 59.. usually they tell you to use the mIRC command "/dccserver sc+ 59" to access their fserv through the firewall. Is there anyway I can access the fserv through the firewall?

Can Port Forwarding with a Router be used somehow to access a fserv through port 59?
