I have a mpb 13" and upgraded my ram today with 2X2 GB Crucial ram which I bought on Ebay. After installing I wanted to check if my memory is really Crucial memory. But when I look in system profiler I can see that manufacturer is 0x0d9B, part number and serial number is 0x000000000 etc. Shouldn't there by stated Crucial at manufacturer and a part number and serial number instead of all those zero's?
So I contacted Crucial and they also think that the numbers don't look like Crucial numbers, but they also couldn't confirm if it is a genuine Crucial product or not before seeing and testing it.
Then I found out today that my supplier FastflashStore on Ebay used to work under another name (Fastmemoryman) and also several other aliases but when people found out that he was defrauding customers, he changed his name to Fastflashstore. There were a lot of complaints about never receiving the order. But Fastflashstore gets very good feedback; I only saw a few negative reviews.
Anyway, Now I am worried that my ram isn't authentic Crucial ram. I tried to find software like CPU-Z but then for Mac which I can use to identify my hardware. I did find some, but it only shows detailed information about my cpu.
I don't have Techtooldeluxe, I am still waiting for the cd, but is it possible to check the specifications of my ram (manufacturer, serial number etc) with this application? Is there another program that also works well?
Thanks a lot!
