No you won't see those options, but it is the same software.

This isn't M$ lazyness - "We don't care to tell what hardware you have, here are some options for it"

Thats what i mean so by that technically on the 1st gen iPhones you will see the turn 3G off and stuff like that...

The firmware can easily check to see if there's a 3G chip. If not, then the option doesn't display.

Also, I wrote previously saying that the API could easily be he same. The firmware can check to see if you have a gps chip when you tap the locator button. It takes like no time to check if there's a gps chip so you won't notice any delay.

YouTube's quality is serverside so they can just add 3G to the high quality videos.

And other than those, everythings the same.

I tried searching in the forums already..
but I was wondering..

In all the printed material, they kinda lump iPhone 3G and the iPhone Software 2.0 together. If I'm going to stick with the old iPhone and not buy the new one yet, what are the features I will be getting with just Software 2.0? Will I get Push? Is GPS the only thing I won't get?

Thanks in advance for your repllies!

...that and (kinda obvious but thought I'd say it anyway) 3G data speeds...

HAHA yea, and that. :)
So Push will be available? Cuz that's what I kinda want because I'm going to have MobileMe and it'd be a nice feature to have.
And plus I don't want to pay the extra $10 for data on the 3G if I don't have to... maybe further down the road when I have a bit more money saved up. heh.

Well, if anyone else has insight on that, I would appreciate it. THANKS!
