Hi, All,
After reading so many different articles and viewing some utube stuff, I changed my 3gs' BB to the iPad.
Wrong move !!!
I found out later with further reading that we could not reverse the BB version.
Now I'm stuck with an unlocked phone that recognizes the Carrier when I put the SIM cards of different providers, but keeps on searching.

Is there hope that in the future we can change the BB back to 05.16.05 ?

Thanks for your comments !

Nick :(

I'm pretty sure the whole thing about that hack was that it was irreversible, hence all the caution and disclaimers from dev team. Even if it could be undone, who is going to take the time to work on it, when there's so much new stuff to worry about?

BTW, I'm pretty sure the baseband will never be downgrade-able again, after the 2G was pwned for life.

It's best to operate as though you won't ever be able to. If it happens, you'll be pleasantly surprised as opposed to abject disappointment.

To Labman and the others

Thanks for your replies.
Do you think Apple can restore the device to its original settings?

Even though the DevTeam tried to engineer a method to downgrade the baseband, so far, every attempt resulted in a "fried" cellular radio rendering the phone useless.

As stated, the DevTeam made this crystal clear this hack was irreversible and rendered the phone's warranty void.

Besides, for most, the iPad baseband performs poorly on iOS5 (service dropouts and location service issues)
Time to upgrade !
Just today, BestBuy (US only) was giving iPhone4's (32GB) away for free with a 2 year contract.

Can someone explain in detail

Hi again
My 3GS is older than the 30th week 2011 (10th 2010)
it's now jail-broken with 4.1 and BB 6.15
When I insert any SIM card I collect all the carrier's info but my signal indicator keeps on "Searching..."
I feel it needs very little to achieve the process.

Any suggestions are welcome

Thanks ,
Nick

Which version of ultrasnow?

I think you confuse, ultrasn0w is a software package to unlock your phone and you need to get it from Cydia, the current version is 1.2.5.

I'm sorry for the confusion, it was done with ultrasnow 1.2.5 .
My BB was upgraded when the phone was in iOS 5.0.1 from 05.15.05 to 6.15

Nick you might need to reflash the iPad bb.

How do I reflash the BB and with what , Please give some instructions

thanks
