Is there much improvement is 5.1?

If you are jailbroken, I'd say stick to your current firmware that you have. There isn't much improvement from 5.0.1 to 5.1

Id agree about staying with 5.0.1 !

There are threads popping up regarding users regretting upgrading and losing their jb.

It depends on what issues you're experiencing on 5.0.1 and if they're fixed in 5.1 and if that's worth losing your JB.
