Well spec wise it would, but you wouldn't look very cool sitting in a coffee shop with your Mac Pro and 23'' Cinema Display..
haha well yes that would be quite bulky.....
i can see where the differences lie, but if someone wanted to get the 17' MBP just for general/home/office use then they may aswell go with the MP, i dare say the MBP quad would cost more than the basic MP, for lesser specs (HD space, RAM, GPU) aswell..
Yeah absolutely, although thats been the case already where the current MBP was more expensive than the base quad 2.66 mac pro.
It def would be a dream machine though, a beast!
According to Intel's Product road map they are slated to release quad-core mobile processors at the end of 2008/beginning of 2009. Whether apple incorporates them or not is another question. Also, black mbp is probably equally unlikely as others have mentioned, but you can keep on hoping...
oh is there? never actually knew that. and yup the quad core MBP would be a dream machine.
i have no doubt that apple will eventually incorprate a quad mbp into their line up. a black mbp tho?? hhmm i dont know, i think they might stay the metallic silver for a while yet.

It's my dream too man, i think there's is a 50 - 50 chance if it any quad core chip, if they do but one in, i'll take a core 2 extreme quad one will do..
Now Black, ilke but i'm not sure but i like to see a black imac outline on the screen, and the new keyboard....
