Is there no way to refresh in Find My anymore?

You used to be able to pull down and it would refresh but trying to see where my son’s is and last update was 12 minutes ago.

are they using air tags? Then there's no way for you to force a refresh, and there never has been. The tags send out their chirp every so often, at the interval of their choosing, If the tag isn't bouncing around, and it has seen an owner's phone recently, the interval is longer.
