I'm looking for something that does what Fraps used to do for Windows and MangoHud does for Linux: just a nice utility that can show the FPS of any game running. I know Steam has one built in, but not every title is on Steam. I'm so far led to believe that there's no such application on macOS, but that seems like it shouldn't be the case considering the size of the OS.

Please, let me know if you know something that can do this. Thanks.

I know that the Game Porting Toolkit uses the Metal FPS counter and does not require any user intervention to enable it.
