Is there still a delay if I order from AT&T?

I'm thinking of ordering a 16GB iPhone 4 from AT&T over the phone. Is there still a long delay or can I pay for overnight shipping and receive it immediately?

I don't think this is something that you have to worry about now. I have a friend who received his iPhone 4 within 4 days.

My brother ordered last week and got it a couple of days ago. Much shorter wait than Apple.

Ordered two iPhone 4's 32GB and a16GB on Sep 15 through apple and it is still giving me a shipping date of Oct 6th.

I just bought one (16GB) at the at&t store earlier this week and they had plenty. If they have them in stock there is no advantage to ordering like there is for other phones that may be cheaper online. However if you are upgrading on one line but using the phone on a different line you need to tell the store ahead of time (or call if ordering) not to activate on the upgraded line but on your line instead; this will keep the phone on the upgraded line from being deactivated. Also the Apple store cannot do this.
