Is there still hope for a redesign?

I work for Steve Jobs as a nanny and I overheard him talking in his sleep and he mumbled something like this "iphone 5 will be redesigned"

in other words, we wont know until the day comes.

Thanks for stating the obvious...

There is always hope........

I think the main thing that is missing is........patience!!!!

We will all know next Tuesday.

We can only hope that there's still some hope so we can hope for an iPhone 5 redesign that still hopefully has some hope.

Definitely.

After 16 months of nothing, there has to be something substantial.

Plus the iPhone 4 already has had 'updates' twice with the whole Verizon deal and the white iPhone deal. That should be enough for one phone.

ofcourse and they are still hopes for the iPhone 5 to get redesigned and you know why ? Because it isn't released yet.:p

Why does a redesign determine whether it is a "4s" or a "5"?

The iPhone looked pretty much the same for 3 generations. The iPhone 4 had a very new look. Aside from a larger screen what is the actual point of a redesign? I don't care if it's redesigned or not, I am more interested in what's inside the phone. Specs mean more than looks to me, especially when I am dropping $300.

Word.

To many people, the physical appearance of the device signals change and makes it a status symbol.

I would love a redesigned phone and such, but I really want the functionality more than anything. I will be buying no matter what, because my current phone (original Moto Droid) is dying quickly. Even if it wasn't, I have realized that iOS is right for me personally.

Well, from a branding perspective. iPhone 4 elicits the image of the current gen iPhone. Therefore, 4s would indicate the same phone you associate with iPhone 4 already, but with some internal changes.

Moving to the iPhone 5 signifies that there is now a new level of design and product capability, which you in turn will pay more for. It's all business and marketing man.

Not complicated.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_6 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8E200 Safari/6533.18.5)

Only thing I am holding on to for hope is the leaked photostream icon. It showed redesigned phone. Hope it wasn't fake.

They will be a iPhone 5 & redesign this year. Apple not that stupid.
Iphone 4 been out too long to keep the same phone

i think there will be more people interested in the design of the phone since not all ppl including myself will feel the "huge difference" before spec bump and after unless its an obviously huge one

If people are too stupid to look at specs on a $200-$300 gadget than they deserve to have their money wasted on something stupid. Eh who am I kidding, they'll just put it on the credit card.

Anyway what I was trying to say is, the iPhone 4 was the first real redesign. But the iPhone 3Gs was way better than the 3G (I don't consider it a minor upgrade, iOS 4 proved that), and it runs laps around the original 2G. Yet all three looked the same and all three sold well and no one was mad about the design not changing.

It's like now all of the sudden people think if the shell doesn't change than it's only a minor update. The A5 alone is far from a minor change, and we all know (regardless of the "look") the new phone will have better specs all around.

I don't really care either way- unless Apple totally bombs on Tuesday I will more than likely buy the next phone regardless of it's outer design. I'm cool with whatever path they choose, as long as the guts are upgraded.

There can be as much hope as you want, but that doesn't mean all your hope will combine into a super-hyper-mega-hope-monster and give you a redesign...
