So I'm planning to buy a new macbook pro soon. My friend recently scored one on craigslist for a ridiculously low price so I would assume it was stolen or something. Price just seemed too good to be true. Regardless, I want to buy one off craigslist too if I can score a deal like he did. I could care less if it was stolen from the store or something, as long as it is brand new and saves me a grip of money, I'll bite. But I do want to know whether stolen macbooks are tracked before I attempt to get one off craigslist though. I know cell phone companies are starting to monitor stolen phones so that I'm aware of.

A lot of owners report them to Apple. Not that Apple gives a crap about you getting it back, but they do get reported to Apple if the owner cares to do so.
