Is this a bug? Or intended? Camera issue

Hi All,

I’m a little confused maybe this is supposed to be like this. When I go into the camera settings and select the format to be “Most Compatible” then tap Record Video, all of my settings show (High Efficiency). If I go back and select High Efficiency for format, then all my record video settings don’t show the (High Efficiency) sign. Is this supposed to be like this? It seems completely backwards. I guess I’m just confused, I want the best, highest quality out of both my video and photos on my 12 Pro since I don’t care much about space, what should I be using?

If you look carefully in the description below the “Formats” options of High Efficiency/Most Compatible, it says that 4K/60, 1080p/240 and HDR require High Efficiency encoding. I see the same (minus the HDR language) on my XS:
