Is this a camera bug or feature?

Sorry if this is old news, I did try searching.

I notice that when selecting the camera app from within the message app, the state of the flash (auto/on/off) doesn't match the state when bringing up camera directly. Is there a reason for that or should I submit a bug report?

I first noticed this on 6.0.1 on iP5 but may have been there earlier.

I'd say feature. The camera interface of the messages app isn't the Camera app, it's just access to the camera like you'd find in Instagram, Facebook, or any other picture taking app.

I tried other apps like camera+ and it doesn’t do that.
The message photo app always defaults to Auto.
Strange.
