is this a common issue?

so i got my 3g last night... works great and all BUT i can make calls but i cant receive any text or incoming calls... i was once with metro pcs and switched cause of the bad coverage... when people call me it goes to my old metro phone and not to my 3g... anyone have some ideas on how to fix this or should i go and wait at apple today?

This means that your number hasn't completed porting yet. You would normally expect this process to take up to 6 hours, but...

Same thing happened to me. Call AT&T (they are the ones who can help you) and they will go in and check your port. I had my incoming calls working within 10 minutes of being on the phone with them. It just happened that the automatic release didn't process like it was supposed to and they fixed it right up!

Apple can't help you. Call AT&T and good luck!
