Is this a good deal for MBP 15"? Help a Newbie..

I'm a Mac newbie as of about a year ago so any help is appreciated...

He's asking $1150 with almost a year left on Applecare. If my research is correct, this would have cost about $2k new plus tax.

Is this a great deal, Good deal, fair deal?

With the install disks can I just reformat and reinstall like it's fresh from the factory?

Not a good deal at all, especially for a 2010. You can snag 2011 returbs or deals.

I think Apple might price Macs differently in the U.S than where I live, but for New Zealand that would be a decent price (taking into account the exchange rate). Might not be as good of a deal in the U.S tho if the retail prices are lower...
