My local campus bookstore has a previous edition 1.33ghz 12 inch powerbook with 60gig HD, Superdrive, AE & BT1.1, for 1250.....

Is this a good deal? i thought it was so i allready got it rather than the 12 inch ibook i was planning on getting. I wanted to know what others thought.

P.S. Its was new and unopened, they let me open it in the store to check for dead pixels b4 i bought it.

P.S.S. They also had this edition ibooks with AE and BT(not stock) in addition to a 40gig HD(10gig bigger than stock) for 975. Was this a better deal?

Apple's Certified section sells the exact same PB unit for $1299, so I'd say it's a good deal. Much better deal than the iBook for $975

Sure, great deal. Get a Powerbook

don't think that's a good deal-you can buy the current powerbook 12" for 1500-150 rebates from amazon and that one will come with 512mb ram 5400rpm drive BT2.0 OS 10.4 and iLife 05
so for the extra 100 bucks you're better off getting the latest and the greatest

Damn that sucks, my other post was on a different topic, thats why i posted here.

EDIT: I cant find that deal on amazon? I was gona return this and get that.

do a search for powerbook, the current ones have a 150 rebate

macprices.com has the link if you still can't find it and is a valuable resource for finding the cheapest price

You do realize that the one for $1500 is the base (non-SuperDrive) model, right? The one Huked on Fonick got for $1250 has a SuperDrive in it.

The 12" PB with the SuperDrive is going for $1700 at Amazon. So, $1700 - $150 = $1550, or a difference of $300 compared to what Huked on Fonick got.
