Is this a good deal? Trade

So this guy in my city has a MBA with a bad screen. It's a 2008 model he says, and he ordered a new screen and didn't know what he was doing or something and couldn't get it working.

he wants to trade for my 1st gen iPad. Is this a good deal? I don't want to be stuck with an unusable computer, but it would be nice if I could get it fixed.

iPad is 10 times more usable than a 2008 MacBook Air. Not to mention the fact that there is a chance you won't be able to fix it. I think once the novelty factor wears off, you are going to miss your iPad.

I'd agree. The 2008 is a very different beast to the current and last models. I'd stick with the iPad if I were you - and certainly wouldn't take a chance with one with a dodgy screen....

Thanks, I suppose I'll just have to think on this more. I don't use my iPad hardly at all...I almost always immediately find a need for my laptop when I turn on the iPad, and I find my laptop more comfortable to use laying in bed.
