Normal scratches on casing nothing on screen. Newer battery.
Its a Craigslist post for $500.00.
Assuming it works well, your thoughts?

Not bad... considering a lot of people in my area are selling PowerBooks at that price range and MBPS are still in $900-1000 range.

2.0GHz, so its most likely a Core Duo (not Core 2 Duo)? If so, then its not 64bit compatible I don't think for future OSX releases assuming they ever go full 64bit. Also, definitely no Applecare warranty left. I suppose $400-$500 is a fair price, but the tech is quite old, so you may want to save a bit more $$ for a Core 2 Duo model. Perhaps you can try to talk the guy down to $400-$450, even then I would not get it but that's simply my opinion, your call :).

thanks for the advice. I think most "craiglisters" are expecting to be haggled down.

If its in great condition, $500 would probably be OK. However, if its in a more average condition, I think about $400 would be better. You'd be surprised what some people consider normal wear and tear - other than the unavoidable surface swirls, my wife's two year old white Macbook still looks brand new. But I take care of my tech - not everyone does. :)

It's decent.

You could probably sell it for more than that.

That said, if it's a core duo (not core 2) then it might be a pain to use.
