iMac G5 (Rev A 17"), iMac G4 (17" & 15"), 3 Sawtooths, Quicksilver, B&W G3 and 3 iMac G3 DV for free.

A good deal or pass?:apple:

im just kidding around, that seems to be the popular answer around here, of course grab them if they're free unless you have to pay some insane shipping cost or drive super far to pick them up. You should be able to sell some of them too, and make a little cash.

You are right... that has to be the most generic answer to anything involving getting PowerPC macs here.

They are very close to me, so i would only need to pay for the gas. Would also be useful with a iMac G5 that can substitute as main computer.:apple:

Incredible deal. Jump on it!

Want my honest advice?

The best PowerPC Mac to get is of course, the G5 Quad.. but if LCS scares you, then get the dual core 2.3 G5 - Its just as fast and you don't have to worry about liquid cooling systems. I enjoy doing so as I have rebuilt my own in the past, so I have the experience there and its not for the faint at heart.

2ND best PowerPC Mac: G4 MDD.. but make sure you have the quieter fans and power supply, and get a PCI slot fan to keep it cool. Your flavors here are Dual 1.25 2MB L3 Cache or Dual 1.42.

If you are after a laptop, hands down.. the best is PowerBook G4 5,9 17 inch with DDR2 memory and or its sibling, the 15.2 DLSD.

Please don't pay attention to the anti-powerpc freaks and naysayers on here. They will confuse you.

What? Couldn't he have just removed the hard drive? I'm the technology directory at a high school and we get computers from Redstone Arsenal all the time, they just remove the hard drives and hand them over.

Speaking from experience, depending of the info handled by a computer/fax/copy machine it well destroyed rather than sell. Some institutions prefer destroy a perfectly good computer rather than risking a leak of sensitive data.
