"I'm selling my Macbook, which is in pretty good condition. I just upgraded to Macbook Pro.

1.83GHz Intel Core Duo
1GB RAM
80GB Hard Drive
Combo Drive
OS 10.5
iWork 09
iLife 09

Machine is good working order, has some typical wear on the case. I did have the topcase replaced recently"

He is asking $300. Is this a good deal?

Thanks!

Sounds like a good deal. Be careful though, if its an Intel Core Duo (not an Intel Core 2 Duo) its a 32 bit chip and more than likely it will not run the next edition of the OS, Snow Leopard (all speculation though). Also make sure you get all of the disks.

Is it a local pick up and a cash deal? If the seller agrees to meet locally at a public place and let you look and try out the machine before you buy, bring a friend or two and you should be fine. But if there's any shipping involved, run the other way.
If it is legit, it is an excellent deal.

This isn't a scam. A lot of people think there MacBook's are only worth a few hundred dollars when actually worth more like $500. For a Core Duo... it's actually a pretty good deal, but not a reason to consider it a SCAM.

Just try it out as a local sale. No sending money over the Internet. See it, test it, and then pay the cash.

Good luck.
