I bought something at the Apple Store last night, using the Apple Store app on my iPhone, and today i noticed on my iPhone and iPad, a "message" (or is it a notification?) in the Messages app on its shipment (this is the top of the Message in the messages list, to hide the order #):

While it shows up in Messages on my iPhone and iPad, it does not show up on either of my 2 MacBook Pros. But it does not appear to be a true message, as there is no way to reply to it - no text box at the bottom to type in, or icon to add a photo, etc. Is this not a message? Is it not supported to receive these on my MacBook Pro or is it some setting that's wrong? I don't think I have ever seen this before, it looks like a Notification that got stuck in the Messages app.

EDIT: more info - Apple Store app is on iPhone and iPad. No Apple Store app for the Mac from what I can see. So Apple Store app notifications (there is a notification to get them) go into the Messages app?

Thanks if you can explain this!

Looks legit, I’ve had similar messages like that before. And as you said the Apple Store App is on both devices that received the message.

Yes but every other "Message" I get goes to the Macs as well. This did not. And it's a thread, 3 other purchases from old months did not go to the Macs either. Everything else is sync'd perfectly via Messages/iCloud.

The alternative is phone Apple and check, If you’re unsure. However, as you purchased something yesterday it seems likely it’s legit.

Sorry, I think you misunderstand - I am not asking if it's legit, I know it is. I am wondering

(1) why this "Notification", that is not a message as it cannot be replied to, goes into Messages in the first place (because other notifications do not);
(2) given that it went into Messages, why was it not sync'd to Macs that are also on Messages/iCloud - the list of Messages should be identical across all my Apple devices since they all have Messages in iCloud (and they are all identical except for this).

I hope that is clearer, sorry for the lack of clarity!

It’s likely because it’s linked to the Apple Store App. If they allowed you to reply it could cause confusion to users if it wasn’t a monitored method of contacting Apple.

I’ve had similar business chats with Apple Card support which only shows up on my iPhone.
